Otis teamed up with Tucker Knight to form Heavy Machinery. They entered the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament in October. Gable offered to help Otis discover his “Inner Alpha.” WWE Official Adam Pearce then named Otis as the final member of the Men’s SmackDown Survivor Series team on November 20. However, at Survivor Series, Braun Strowman eliminated Otis, and Team SmackDown lost.
Tag Team Matches and Royal Rumble
During TLC’s pre-show on December 20, Otis, Gable, Big E, and Daniel Bryan triumphed over Shinsuke Nakamura, Cesaro, King Corbin, and Sami Zayn in an eight-man tag team match. At the Royal Rumble on January 31, 2021, King Corbin quickly eliminated Otis in his first Rumble match.
Turning Heel and Tag Team Championship
On February 19, Otis turned heel for the first time by attacking Rey Mysterio, following Gable’s orders. Alpha Academy dropped the titles back to RK-Bro on March 7, ending their reign at 55 days. They failed to regain the titles at WrestleMania 38 in a triple threat match.
Alliance with Maximum Male Models
At WrestleMania 38 on April 3, Alpha Academy couldn’t regain the titles in a triple threat match involving The Street Profits. On March 13, 2023, Gable found Otis with Maximum Male Models during a photo shoot. Otis chose to leave with them, sparking a rivalry between Dupri and Gable for his allegiance.
