The 2023 NFL season might still be a little while away, but there is already a lot of discussion about who could potentially be crowned Super Bowl champions in 2024.
The Kansas City Chiefs were crowned the winners in February as they managed to defeat the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 in a highly entertaining game in Glendale, Arizona, at the State Farm Stadium.
Now, with the focus firmly ahead, everyone is looking at what could potentially happen the next time the Super Bowl is played. Now that sports betting in the US is on the rise, there is a lot of betting interest on the game, as bettors continue to look for ways in which they can enhance their overall passion for the sport and get a better season experience.
Kansas City Chiefs remain favorites.
Given that they enter the 2023 NFL campaign as the current holders, the Kansas City Chiefs have been made the betting favorite to retain the Super Bowl and win it again when the 58th edition of the showpiece takes place in Las Vegas at the Allegiant Stadium; home to the Las Vegas Raiders.
Football fans and those that have been wagering on the sport since it became legal in the US will probably not have been surprised that Andy Reid’s team are among the favorites, as they have been rated as the No. 1 or co-favorite in each of the last five seasons.
The team – since being led on the field by Patrick Mahomes – has consistently pushed for the Vince Lombardi trophy, and many believe this will continue once the pursuit of Super Bowl LVIII begins. With both Reid and Mahomes seemingly going nowhere, and the franchise experiencing a dynasty akin to the one the New England Patriots had with Tom Brady and Bill Belichick, it is hard to look elsewhere across the NFL.
San Francisco 49ers for the 2024 Super Bowl LVIII?
While the Chiefs may be considered the favorite, the NFL has proven over the years that any team can put together a run and challenge for the greatest honors possible in the sport of football.
Big shocks may be a little more difficult to anticipate, but there are teams that could potentially challenge for the title next February. According to the odds, the San Francisco 49ers open up as the next-best team as we go into the 2023 NFL Draft.
It might be worth keeping an eye on what the team does in the draft before committing to them as a favorite, as it could be argued they still require players in skill positions. The jury may still be out on the quarterback room for the Californians, with Trey Lance, Brock Purdy, and Sam Darnold each being questioned about their ability to win the Super Bowl.
Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles both considered.
The Buffalo Bills were widely tipped last season to be in contention to challenge for the Super Bowl after an impressive season, but they fell short against the Cincinnati Bengals in the Divisional Game. Josh Allen and co are widely expected to contend again, as they remain third in the list of favorites, ahead of last year’s beaten finalists.
The Eagles have managed to secure the future of quarterback Jalen Hurts to one of the richest deals in NFL history, and they will be hoping they can go one step further than last season and lift the trophy. Whether they will have a hangover from last season or be able to continue at full steam ahead remains to be seen. Also Read – 5 Best Gifts for Football Fans
An interesting team that could potentially challenge as an outsider this season is the New York Jets. They have recently managed to complete a trade with the Green Bay Packers for Aaron Rodgers. The four-time MVP winner and a Super Bowl winner, the 39-year-old will be looking to try and obtain another Vince Lombardi trophy and give the Jets something to cheer about, as it has been a very long time since success was achieved by Gang Green.
