Angel Garza 2016 Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide
El Hijo del Ninja was reportedly interested in signing with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) in 2014, according to various Mexican wrestling media sources, but nothing concrete came of the speculations at the time. As part of an ongoing storyline conflict between the Garza family and La Dinastia Wagner, El Hijo del Ninja and his cousin time Ninja won the LyC Tag Pair championship in 2015, only to lose it to the team of Lucha libre superstars Dr. Wagner Jr. and Silver King.
However, El Hijo del Ninja, El Ninja Jr., and ltimo Ninja competed in a six-man steel cage match against Dr. Wagner Jr., El Hijo del Silver King Jr., and Dr. Wagner Jr., with the last man in the cage being made to reveal his identity. El Hijo del Ninja was ultimately the last man to escape the cage, leaving Silver King Jr. in the ring and forced to reveal his identity. Garza Jr. was invited to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida in the spring of 2016 as part of WWE’s study for their forthcoming Cruiserweight Classic, but he ultimately decided not to compete in the competition. The Crash Tag Team Championship was won by the Garza cousins on August 13, 2016, during a performance in Tijuana, Baja California, after they defeated Tony Casanova and Zarco.
Angel Garza 2011
By the late fall of 2011, Llaves y Candados (LyC), a new promotion, had taken over running performances in Arena Coliseo Monterrey. The LyC Championship was won by El Hijo del Ninja on September 18 of that year. Later, when the promotion abandoned the championship, he would forfeit it. El Hijo del Ninja took part in Mitad y Mitad: Lucha por el Amor (“Half and Half: Fight for Love”), a Mexican dating reality TV series, in 2012. However, at the show’s conclusion, El Hijo del Ninja voluntarily removed his mask on national television for the first time in his professional wrestling career.
He would wrestle sans a mask going forward. Following Konan Big’s entrance on the TV show, they got into a narrative conflict that culminated in a Lucha de Apuestas match. El Hijo del Ninja and Konan Big were to face off in a one-on-one match, with El Hijo del Ninja “betting” his hair and Konan Big “betting” his wife on the outcome. El Hijo de Konan Big got involved during the buildup to the actual match on both Silencio and Konan Big’s show, turning it into a four-way steel cage match. Konan Big and Silencio were the first wrestlers to exit the cage. El Hijo del Ninja eventually broke free of the prison, causing El Hijo de Konan Big to cut off all of his hair.
Angel Garza 2008
He is a third-generation wrestler and the grandson of El Ninja, a famous luchador named Mario Segura. Garza performed as El Hijo del Ninja from his 2008 debut until 2015. He is the grand-nephew of Humberto Segura Garza and the nephew of Héctor Garza and Humberto Garza Jr. His tag team partner in Mexico, Humberto Carrillo, a fellow WWE wrestler, is his cousin. Garza began his career as an enmascarado, or masked wrestler, but chose to remove his mask in the series finale of a dating reality show in 2012, and he has since continued to work without it.
He won the FILL Light Heavyweight Championship the same year after winning the tournament.
On September 30, 2009, he would defeat Black Morse and win his first Lucha de Apuestas, or “bet match,” compelling him to reveal his identity as a result of the rule. A Lucha de Apuestas victory is a sign of a promotional “push” and is typically regarded as a greater accomplishment than a championship triumph. In a Relevos Suicida match for Lucha de Apuestas, where he joined up with Silver Star to take on the team of Memo Valles and Coco Viper, he would finish the year. Both El Hijo del Ninja and Memo Valles were forced to wrestle each other because they were both pinned throughout the bout, endangering El Hijo del Ninja’s mask and Memo Valles’ hair in the process.
After winning, El Hijo del Ninja made Memo Valles shave all of his hair. He won another Lucha de Apuestas in 2010, causing Estrella Dorada Jr. to lose all of his hair. The 2011 FILL Rey del Aire (“King of the Air”) competition was won by El Hijo del Ninja.
