Nhooph Al-Areebi (pronounced noof al ə-REE-bee) is a Canadian professional wrestler. She is currently signed to WWE, where she performs on the SmackDown brand under the ring name Aliyah. She is a former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion. Aliyah is of Arab descent.

Aliyah was born to his parents in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on November 23, 1994. The female wrestler is therefore 27 years old. She was a first generation Canadian, growing up in Toronto in a conservative Middle Eastern Family. Not much information is known about her parents or her siblings. She is from what she describes as a “conservative” family. However, it was also because of family that her interest in wrestling began. Her brother was a huge WWE fan and would play its video games, something she Later joined him in doing. Soon after that, her interest grew and she began watching wrestling shows as well. “I instantly fell in love with the larger-than-life characters and the storytelling,” she says.

Some of her favorite wrestlers are John Cena, Edge, Jeff Hardy, Mickie James and fellow Canadian Trish Stratus. When Al-Areebi was 16, she got the chance to train as a wrestler at a local warehouse. However, she didn’t first tell her parents about it. “My parents immigrated to Canada so they grew up completely different. And they didn’t really know what to expect,” she says. Career

Early in her career, Aliyah wrestled for a number of independent promotions, including Squared Circle Wrestling and Great Canadian Wrestling. Most of her gigs were in her home country, but she also ventured into the Midwest at times.

Back when Aliyah was a teenager, she was just a fan of wrestling rather than working on a career in the sport. She started her own YouTube channel under the name of “chickkick21”. Her channel was focused all on her biggest passion and love, professional wrestling. However, Aliyah debuted in Squared Circle Wrestling in Toronto with the ring named Jasmin Areebi in January 2013. By beating Beautiful Beaa in Therefore, on December 2013, Aliyah claimed the Pure Wrestling Association Elite Women’s Championship. At Royal Rumble, Aliyah competed in the 30-woman Royal Rumble match which was won by Ronda Rousey. On the August 29 edition of Raw, Aliyah and Raquel Rodriguez defeated Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky to win the vacant WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. It was her first championship in WWE. Although it was later seen that she pinned Dakota Kai who was not the legal competitor, nonetheless her team was still crowned champions. On the September 12 episode of Raw they lost the titles to Dakota Kai and IYO SKY, ending their reign at 14 days.
