Professional Wrestling Career
Independent circuit (2013–2015)
Before making a name for herself in WWE as Aliyah, Al-Areebi wrestled on the independent circuit under the ring name Jasmin Areebi. She made her debut for Squared Circle Wrestling (SCW) in Toronto in January 2013 and went on to wrestle for a range of promotions in Canada and the United States. These included Pure Wrestling Association (PWA), Absolute Intense Wrestling (AIW), and New England Championship Wrestling (NECW), among others. Al-Areebi’s experience on the independent circuit helped her hone her skills and gain valuable exposure, ultimately paving the way for her success in WWE.
In March 2015, Nhooph Al-Areebi signed a developmental contract with WWE, which was officially confirmed in April. She made her first appearance at the NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable event in May and her in-ring debut on June 20. By October, she was given her ring name, Aliyah, by WWE.
